Turning Defense Into Attack (the Bajada)
When the back-glass rebound brings the ball back up into your strike zone, you stop defending and start attacking. This is the bajada.
๐ฏ Key points
- โIf the rebound is above your waist, you have an attack.
- โIf below your knee, defend with a globo or chiquita.
- โAim for the feet of the closer net player โ don't try to pass them.
- โMove forward after the bajada โ opponents will defend, and you want to take the net.
๐ Practice drill
Partner lobs deep, you let the ball bounce, hit the back wall, and rebound up. Drive low cross-court 20 times, then down the line 20 times.
